Hi! My name is Brianna Vogel. I am 17 years old and in the 12th grade. I started a project called "Brianna's Pennies of Love" when I was 5 years old because when I went to the Children's Hospital in Austin, Texas I felt really sad that there was nothing for children and family members to do while they were waiting for loved ones going through treatment. I went there because my brother has a immune disorder and has to have special medicine. He got his medicine through a little a little "Blue Button" on his stomach.
The mission of "Brianna's Pennies of Love" is to collect money and art supplies for childern with medical needs. I use the money to buy art/craft supplies and other items on wish lists at hospitals and clinics and to make art bags for children in isolation. They need large easels, painting smocks, drying racks, other art supplies, and gaming supplies. The children use the art supplies and games to keep them busy while they are receiving extended medical treatment. This includes the Children's Blood and Cancer Center, Children's Dialysis Clinic, other infusion centers, and Dell Children's Hospital's playrooms, art bags for children in isolation, and the Comprehensive Care Clinic.
In March of 2007, "Brianna's Pennies of Love" became a nonprofit organization. I did this so that I would be able to help more kids. My mission is to extend this into many other hospitals throughout Texas and the United State. I need your help to do this.
